To launch the competitive entrance examination into the 1 st year of the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Douala at Nkongsamba for the 2017 - 2018 academic year .


THE MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION HEREBY ANNOUNCES :

1 . Holders of baccalaureate A , AF , B , C, D, E and F 4 .
2 . Holders of GCE/ AL in Arts.
3 . Holders of GCE/ AL in physics or Mathematics and holders of GCE/ AL in Biology and Chemistry on condition that the candidate obtained both papers in one session , and had the GCE / Ordinary level in Mathematics or physics or biology and chemistry.
4 . Holders of any other diploma accepted by the Ministry of Higher Education as equivalent.

That a competitive entrance examination for the recruitment of one hundred and fifty
( 150 ) students into the first year of the Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Douala has been launched . It comprises a study of files and written papers . The examination centers are
Douala , Maroua , Nkongsamba and Yaounde . Also reserved for foreign candidates residing in Cameroon .

The written examination comprises:
1 . Two - hour French paper ( coefficient 1 ) for Anglophones and coefficient 2 for Francophones ) .
2 . Two - hour English paper ( coefficient 1 ) for Francophones and coefficient 2 for Anglophones) .
3 . Two ~ hour General knowledge paper ( coefficient2 ) .
4 . One - hour drawing paper .
For candidates offering Architecture and urbanism apart from the papers mentioned above , they shall also write Mathematics ( 3 hrs, coef . 2 ) .

The number of places are distributed as follow :
1 . Cinema and Audiovisual Arts : 30 places .
2 . Architecture and Urbanism : 30 places .
3 . Plastic Arts and History Art : 30 places .
4 . Drama and Performing art : 30 places .
5 . Patrimony and Museum Sciences : 30 places .
The examination syllabus is that of Baccalaureate A , B , C, D, F 4 and AF or GCE/ AL in French and English or Mathematics . The General Knowledge paper shall be based on Art and the History of Art .

Application files include the following documents :
1 . A duly stamped hand - written application
2 . An identification form obtainable from
3 . The Institute of Fine Arts Nkongsamba
4 . The University of Douala ( Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences : Academic Office ) .
5 . All Regional Delegations of Secondary Education .
6 . Certified true copies of the required diplomas .
7 . Five ( 5 ) passport size photographs ( 4 ×4 ) .
8 . A medical certificate issued by a state medical practitioner , testifying that the candidate is physically fit for university studies .
9 . Transcripts of probatoire or GCE/ OL and baccalaureate or GCE/ AL .
10. A receipt of payment of the sum of 20 .000 CFA francs into account Bank N° 10033- 05214- 140070 00 004 - 47 at UBA, representing the registration fees.
11. Two ( 2 ) A4 stamped self - addressed envelops .
Complete application files must reach one of the services listed below before 4 th September 2017 in the admission office of:
Douala ( University of Douala : ( Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences : Academic Office) .
Institute of Fine Arts of the University of Douala at Nkongsamba ( Admission Office ) .
Yaounde ’ ( Ministry of Higher Education : 9 th ( Room 917 ) .
All Regional Delegations of Secondary Education .
Only candidates who have submitted a complete application files shall be authorized to sit in for the examination . They should therefore bring along their national identity cards .
Candidates for the competitive entrance examination into the first year should not be more than twenty - nine (29 ) years old on 1 st January of the current year . Civil servants and others send by enterprises and private organizations will not have age restriction.
The examination will take place on 8 th September 2017 , at 8 am prompt in the following centers :
Douala ( University of Douala , AMPHI 200 ) .
Nkongsamba ( Institute of Fine Arts) .
Yaounde ( University of Yaounde I , Amphi 300 ) .
Maroua ( Institut Superieur du Sahel ) .
